Statement of Intent

Rationale

The Brief, My plans for this brief is to create a advertising campaign, promoting the company ‘Street Talk’ I have give myself the option of changing the name is I would like to.

The direction I am going to take this brief in is, serious, keeping humour to a minimum.
Creating a minimum of four phone box ad shels, and one other way of promoting the company, and also rebranding the logo of ‘Street Talk’ or what ever I decide to call the company

Why do I want to take this route? I enjoy working with campaigns, creating posters and other sources of design to promote items, companies etc.

Statement of Intent

My intentions for this brief are to create the strongest possible designs I can, to promote the items that I chose to do for this brief.

Using photography or screen to produce the end products.

I am ambitious to get the best outcome possible, so my work is to a good strong standard and can be used as a portfolio piece that I can be happy with and use in future.

What will I be producing? I will be producing a minimum of four phone box ad shels, and one other way of promoting the company, examples being leaflets, idents, handouts etc. Also rebranding the logo of ‘Street Talk’ or what ever I decide to call the company.

The purpose of this will be to have people starting to use the phone company to find out information while out and about.

I will produce a range of advertisements, a large possession of them being for phone boxes, promoting the company, and other range of ways to promote ‘Street Talk’

I will be sticking with what I know, using screen to create the design, and producing them using print.
I will also be using photography for the project.

Brief

I have based my brief on the ‘Street Talk’ brief. However, I have changed a few things to make the brief more appealing to me, with something I would enjoy to do.

Research

In order to produce this brief as best I can, I need to find out who my competition are, and what people would want from a company like this.

Will have to research into existing phone company campaigns, i.e o2, T-Mobile, although they are not in the same sort of category, I could still get ideas and be influenced by these.

Also look at what existing phone companies have used to promote there product/company out using poster campaigns.

Do they give out free items? Leaflets with all the information?

How good is they promotion items? Can I make mine better?
Will have to look at the competition

The customers will want to see what they want, So I could simply ask people what they want from a phone company,
see what the average answers are from the feedback and work with that bases.

Practical Development

For this brief, I would like to use photography, and then uploading them into photoshop, and touching up anything that may need to doing and then adding the information and designs produced in the progress to make the advertisement a whole.
To do this, I may have to try and book myself into the photography studio and if that is possible try and set up my own, in a studio or bed room.

Using photography during this will be a big part of the resolutions, so as soon as I get the idea nailed down that I would like to do I will be using a camera for a large portion of this brief.

Hopefully enough images take and ideas nailed, I will have a good few images I could use for my resolution.

Recording, Documentation & Evaluation

I will be using a camera a lot during this brief, so I could document a lot of research work through photographs,

Simply keeping notes throughout the brief, incase I get inspiration from something, to either jot it down or a quick doodle or sketch.

Keeping blog up to date, with outcomes or ideas or influences.

Bibliography Sources & Articles

Throughout the project I will be using sources such as magazine, books, the internet to find out about promotional items and about the competition and the work of the competition.
